Hello my name is Brock Spencer and I will be coaching the Xplosion Team for the Pony Baseball Shetland Division. My five-year old son Michael will be playing on the team as well. I’ve tried to reach out to most everyone on the team already via phone. I wanted to share some info so everyone can start planning.
Practices
These are the practice dates and times. Right now, I am expecting to have all practices at North Point Elementary School 2602 E. College Ave. Normal, IL. We will likely be in a grassy area near the baseball field. If the baseball field is empty, we will use it.
- Tuesday May 3rd at 5:30 pm – Meeting with parents first 10 minutes of practice.
- Tuesday May 10th at 5:30 pm
- Tuesday May 17th at 5:30 pm
- Tuesday May 24rd at 5:30 pm
Games
First game is Sunday May 29th at 12:45 pm and the last game of the season is July 28th. Once the season starts, I likely won’t have additional practices since we have about 2 games each week. The schedule can be found on https://www.leagueathletics.com/Default.asp?org=mcponybaseball.com . All games are at the Pony Complex.
Team Pictures
Some other days to circle on your calendar would be May 14-15 (edit) Sunday June 5th. This is picture weekend and eventually Pony will provide us with a day and time for our picture time slot.
Gear/Equipment
Your child will need to bring a glove and water bottle to practices and games. They will need to get a pair of baseball pants. I would recommend white. Team shirts and hats have been ordered and we are hoping to have these by the first game. Your child can bring a baseball bat to practice if they want to but it’s not required.
Parent Volunteering
I would like to give all parents an opportunity to help with practices and games during the season. I will create a sign-up genius and send-out to everyone so they can pick a time that works best for them.
Questions
Feel free to email me at
or call/text my cell phone at (309) 287-6613. This is my first-year coaching Pony so I will do my best to answer all questions or find the person that can. I’m looking forward to having a fun summer on the field with everyone.
