MCPB Board Members, Friends of the Board & HR Derby participants:
We have had a great response to the HR Derby (186 registered) and have a fun night of events planned!!
An event of this size requires a lot of hands to coordinate, so I am soliciting your help!  You are able to volunteers for the field your player is participating on so you won’t miss any of the action!  If you have multiple kids on multiple fields, you can volunteer for multiple fields!
The event will run from 4:30pm (check-in) until complete (target is to end no later than 10:00pm.  We will be having a Home Run Derby on five fields (Shetland through Pony)…there are games scheduled on Colt. 
Here are the volunteer spots we could use help with:
  • Check-in Table:  Players will be asked to check-in at least 30 min before their ‘scheduled’ time.  We will need people to check them in and provide some brief instructions and others to pull participant t-shirts for distribution.
  • Parking Lot Coordinator:  Parking could be an issue for us.  Would like a few folks to be in the parking lot during the first part of the event to direct folks to park “close” to maximize parking lot usage.  Also, need to warn folks who park in the ‘HR Zones’ by Mustang RF, Bronco LF & Pony LF & RF.
  • Scorekeeper:  We will utilize the scoreboard to track Home Runs (Home team score) & swings (visiting team score) on Mustang, Bronco & Pony.  Scorekeeping will be kept manually for Shetland & Pinto.
  • “Pitcher”:  Responsible for feeding the pitching machine.
  • “Catcher”:  Responsible for collecting balls from backstop.
MCPB is a volunteer-run organization and we cannot make any of this happen without you!!
